My “Me Time”

I love my family. I Love spending time with them but i just need some me time!!!!
I have blogged b4 about some of the things that annoy me when it comes to my family , this blog will be one of those!
Ever since they declared the new weekend to be Fri. And Sat. I have always had Sat. mornings for myself, (My Dad Goes to work on that day.) Since its not a family day …. I Take Advantage!!!!!!!
I’m Always home by 5 Pm or sooner depending on when i leave, so there is no reason whatsoever for any complaints!
For the past month my mom wants to use My “Me Time” as a mother daughter day and my dad decided that Sat. will be a half day instead of a full day at work.
Now….what i wanna know is…. Are they so against me having time for myself and enjoying a DAY that they have to ruin it in any way possible.
If she wants a mother daughter day we can do it when i come home… or on Friday afternoon or something.
I think because they know that i do enjoy the occasional family gathering, they are taking advantage and turning everyday life into a friggin family reunion!!!
I’m not a kid its not like I’m 12 I’m friggin 25 years old they don’t even need to be butting in so much (esp. since I’m not really asking for much)
The disadvantages of being half Arab in an Arab country!

I have to have “me time”… I have also blogged about it as being one of the facts about me (http://ansam518.blogspot.com/2007/08/tagged-8-facts.html)
I hope you manage to get something done about that… I really do :-***
I truly believe that every person should have their own “ME” time. If I don’t have that, I’d die. Parents always think they should get into their children’s life and know every teeny weeny little detail but it’s actually over the line. They should understand that even they should get at least some private time where they think about their decisions and actions they made. They don’t understand that they need a space to breathe some time.
I hope you get your “ME” time soon enough, hun.
God speed. ^_^
I know what you mean, I also need “me time” and make it a point to let my whole family know about it. At the beginning it was foreign but with time they got used to it. Every once in awhile they try to control that time specially if they don’t have anything else to do but I make sure to remind them that the time belongs to me and they have to wait or do it at another time. Good luck with yours, defend it, is the only way to get it.
I think me time is important, but you have to schedule your time so that they know your busy! You schedule family, voice in your opinion in a good way..
My family knows that I ride early mornings on the weekends, and they know that Thursday nights are my guys night…
so I go out with my family on Friday or Saturday based on what they are doing, I can always hang out with my friends since they are flexible.. so its just a matter of scheduling things.
